• selecting and promoting new cultivars so as to broaden the variety of ornamental plants and increase their usefulness and enjoyment;

• disseminating, at every opportunity, the knowledge gained from our own experience so as to support the information needs of tradesmen and thereby build appreciation of plants and gardening among the general public;

And to do these things in a manner that:

• advances the cause and reputation of horticulture;
